Domain Transfers and Setting Up Email

Domain Transfers to us:

  • From Godaddy – We provide them with our Godaddy account #, email address and the name on our account. This information is 10550444, tammy@websitesfornewspapers.com and Ricky Minchew.  They will then initiate the account change from within their GoDaddy account. Once they initiate the account change, we will login to our GoDaddy account and accept it. At that point the domain transfer is complete, there is no waiting period. Here is a link detailing the process for them: https://www.godaddy.com/help/move-my-domain-to-another-godaddy-account-822
  • Outside of Godaddy – They need to unlock the domain name and request the transfer code from their current registrar. This process will be different for each registrar and they may need to contact the registrar to assist them. Once the domain is unlocked and they receive the transfer key, they need to forward the key to us. When the domain is unlocked and we have the key we will initiate the transfer which can take up to 5 business days. During this time they need to forward us any emails they receive in regards to the transfer.

Alternatively, they can provide us with their current registrar login and in most cases John can perform most of the steps for them. If they choose this method then they will still need to forward us any emails they get in regards to the transfer.

Domain Transfers from us:

  • Godaddy – We need name, email and account # for their Godaddy account.
  • Outside of Godaddy – We need to unlock the domain name and provide them with authorization emails/codes.

Leave Domain where it is:

  • Get registrar login information. John will provide further instructions if needed.

Emails:

  • Get accounts and passwords.
  • If we already provide email for another account for them, we need to wait to set up email until they are ready to go live.
